A man who snatched a gold beera in Chaguanas on Saturday was caught shortly afterward by police.
Officers received reports of the theft near the market and soon spotted a man matching the description attempting to board a PH taxi near Scotia Bank. The vehicle was stopped, and a search found the stolen beera.
The victim, who had been chasing the suspect on foot, identified both the man and the beera.
The 24-year-old suspect from Enterprise was taken into custody, and charges are expected to be filed.
